Printing & list downloads

Every roster in BirthTracks carries the same list toolbar, and every chart, record and list can be printed. Exporting and printing are reads: they’re available to every tier, so a Viewer can download and print even where they can’t edit.

Above each roster sit the selection and export controls:

  • Selection (toggles to Hide selection) — opens the panel for choosing the time window, filters and extra columns.
  • CSV, Excel and PDF — download the current list in that format (Download CSV / Download Excel / Download PDF).
  • Print list — a print-ready layout of the whole list.
  • Print selected (<count>) — appears once you’ve ticked rows, and prints just those, in the same layout.
  • Copy link to this view — copies a link that reopens the list with the same selection. It never carries a patient-name or record-number search.

Inside the selection panel you choose a Select time window — a preset, or Choose… with the list’s own from / to dates (for example Birth date from / Birth date to on Births) — apply Filters (optional), and tick Additional variables — “Ticked variables become columns on the table, exports and printed list.” Save as filter… keeps the selection as a named filter, and Clear selection puts the window, filters and columns back to the list’s defaults. The downloads and Print list follow the list as you see it: the panel’s selection plus any search, and, on Procedures and Records, the filters and date range above the list. Ticked rows only narrow Print selected.

The rosters that carry this toolbar are Patients, Pregnant patients, Births, Transfers, Procedures and the Records list. Saved filters, the starters on each list, Copy link and Print selected are covered in full on Filters & selections.

Beyond the list toolbar, individual records print on their own:

  • Print a patient chart — the patient’s chart, print-formatted.
  • Print a birth record — a single birth, print-formatted.
  • Print a record — a filing record from the Records area.
  • Print a list — every roster has a print-list view, the same one the toolbar’s Print list button opens.

All print and download actions carry the full PHI-access middleware, so they’re audited like every other read of patient data.

  • Import births — bring records in from another system.
  • Reports — accreditation, benchmarking and research extracts.
