Create your account & practice

Signing up creates two things at once: your personal account and the practice it belongs to. You do it in one flow — there is no separate “create your practice” step after you sign in.

The sign-up page walks you through three steps — Account, Plan, and Payment — shown as a progress bar across the top.

1. Account

Enter your Name, Email address, a Password (typed again in Confirm password), and your Practice name (for example, Riverbend Midwifery), then choose Create account. Completing this step creates your account and your practice together and signs you in — so a declined card or a closed tab later never throws the account away.

2. Plan

Choose your plan. BirthTracks is billed per provider seat, and every plan starts with a 30-day free trial before the first charge.

3. Payment

Add a card to start the trial. You are told the exact date the first charge would fall on, and you can cancel any time before then. The card is stored securely by our payment provider — see Subscription & billing for managing it later.

Once payment is confirmed, you land in your new practice’s Dashboard, ready to add patients and record births.

Where Google sign-in is available, a Continue with Google button sits above the form on the sign-up page (and on the log-in page). If the Google account is new to BirthTracks, choosing it creates your account and your practice in one click — there is no Account, Plan or Payment step to fill in first. By continuing you accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy linked at the bottom of the page.

What’s different from the funnel:

No password. You sign in with Google. You can add a password later — see Sign-in & security.
Your email is already verified, because Google has confirmed it.
Your practice is named after you — if your Google name is Example User, the practice is called Example User’s practice. Rename it any time from Practice → Practice info by changing Office Name.
You choose a plan next. Instead of the Dashboard, you land on Choose your plan, where you pick a plan and start your free trial before using the rest of the app.

If your Google email already belongs to a BirthTracks account, Continue with Google uses that account rather than creating a new one — see Continue with Google.

Your practice

Everything you record — patients, births, exports — lives inside your practice and stays private to it. No practice can see another practice’s identified records. (Two deliberate exceptions — your own cross-practice birth history, and de-identified benchmarking and research data — are covered in the Overview.)

You can also belong to more than one practice and switch between them, and a provider who was invited into someone else’s practice can start their own. Both are covered in Your practice profile.

Get your team on board

Add the rest of your midwives and staff so they can log in and record care under the same practice. You invite them by email from Practice → Team in the left rail, choosing a role for each — full walkthrough in Your team & roles.
